Known as the "Golf Capital of the World," the Peninsula boasts 17 championship golf courses and is the setting for many world-caliber sporting events. Visitors to the Peninsula will find many cultural and sporting activities. Some attractions include: The Monterey Bay Aquarium, the National Marine Sanctuary, historic adobes, numerous golf courses, wineries, monuments, parks, fishing, whale watching, sailing, art galleries, theatre, shops, yearly Bach & Jazz festivals, bicycling, horseback riding and restaurants.

The Monterey Peninsula is a unique combination of nature and history. The Pacific Ocean, Del Monte forest and temperate climate have created one of the most desirable areas in the world. Few places are so permeated with a sense of history; a Spanish-Mexican-American tradition whose grace, color and warmth seem to emanate from every sun-baked adobe wall.
