Monterey Peninsula, California
The Monterey Peninsula is located a short two-hour drive
south of San Francisco and 345 miles north of Los Angeles.
Approximately 112,000 people live in the seven incorporated
cities on the Peninsula with another 24,000 residents living
in the surrounding, unincorporated areas. Temperatures range
from an average low of 48 degrees to an average high of 65
degrees. The economy of the Peninsula is impacted by research,
education and eco-tourism.
Known as the "Golf Capital of the World," the Peninsula
boasts 17 championship golf courses and is the setting for
many world-caliber sporting events. Visitors to the Peninsula
will find many cultural and sporting activities. Some attractions
include: The Monterey Bay Aquarium, the National Marine Sanctuary,
historic adobes, numerous golf courses, wineries, monuments,
parks, fishing, whale watching, sailing, art galleries, theatre,

The Monterey Peninsula is a unique combination of nature
and history. The Pacific Ocean, Del Monte forest and temperate
climate have created one of the most desirable areas in the
