Carmel (Carmel-By-The-Sea) (population 4,420) is nestled
in a grove of Pines and Cypress on Carmel Bay, just
west of Highway 1. Its history spans several centuries,
but Carmel's quaint heritage thrived when artists, writers
and musicians migrated from San Francisco following
the earthquake and fire of 1906. Today, parks, a white
sand beach, fireside dining and a sea of fine art galleries
characterize this charming storybook village.
